People typically don't drink soup from a glass because soup is a hot liquid and glass is a poor conductor of heat, meaning it would not keep the soup warm for very long. Additionally, the lack of a handle on a glass makes it difficult to hold and drink hot soup without burning oneself. Furthermore, the shape and size of a typical glass are not well-suited for containing and consuming soup, as it is more common to use a bowl or mug with a wider opening and a handle for easier consumption. **

The act of consuming soup involves both drinking the broth and eating the solid components. Therefore, it is more accurate to say that you eat soup rather than drink it. **
